If you are a transitioning service member, veteran, student veteran, or pursuing a career change into HR, then please join the Tri-State HRMA’s Workforce Readiness Committee for a free webinar focused on resources and information that can assist you with taking your first steps to becoming an HR professional.
During this webinar, we will cover networking during the pandemic and resources that are available to aid you with translating your military skills and earning HR certifications. You will meet HR professionals and Veterans who have successfully transitioned into the HR field who will share information and resources to empower you to pursue your HR career path.

Maria Morales is a native of Hammonton, NJ and a veteran who retired from the military after serving 26 years in the Marine Corps. Following her successful military career, she became an HR professional where she worked in small and large organizations. She has completed certificate courses in HR, earned a BA in psychology, and is currently working on her thesis for an MA in Human Resource Management.
Maria’s passion for helping fellow veterans is a driving force behind her work previously teaching the Department of Labor Employment Workshop at Transition Assistance Program (TAP) classes, volunteering at numerous veteran career fairs, creating a veteran’s career fair workbook, teaching networking classes for the local DoD Skillbridge program, and assisting service members with resume revisions.
She is currently the Site Lead for the VA Benefits Advisors located at Ft Dix, NJ and continues to provide career guidance and assistance for service members and veterans by combining the resources offered by VA with local resources.
David W. Cheatham, M.A., APR
Prosci®-Certified Change Practitioner
David Cheatham is Founder and President of Transform Communications LLC, a strategic messaging and change management consulting practice. He serves on the faculty of Rutgers University where he teaches business administration, management, marketing, and human resource management.
David holds an M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Certificate in Strategic Communications Management from The Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. He is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America and Prosci International.
David is the author of “Communicating Change in Healthcare Organizations,” in Getting Started in Healthcare Public Relations, Kendall Hunt (2020).
