“Combatting the Great Resignation: Stay Interviews “

How are you and your organization handling The Great Resignation? Most of us are scrambling to figure out how to curb the many people leaving (even without a new job to go to). You may have also noticed that most of those leaving are women, people of color, and younger employees, which is also countering your diversity goals.

It is often standard practice to conduct exit interviews to gain information about why an employee is leaving an organization. Many times, this information is too little too late, and the opportunity to prevent unwanted turnover is lost.

Stay interviews are periodic discussions managers can have with their staff, that when done well, increase employee engagement, develop stronger relationships and prevent unwanted turnover.

Ms. Gatti is a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) and Leadership Development consultant who is passionate about maximizing talent and creating inclusive cultures to drive business success.

Through her work as a consultant and corporate leader, she has facilitated engaging training sessions, established vibrant and active Employee Resource Groups and coached leaders. Programs she has created have resulted in greater engagement, increased diversity through managing bias, and improved teamwork.

Ms. Gatti has worked with a wide variety of clients and industries, including non-profit organizations. She is honored to have presented at conferences and meetings, and online panels and interviews. She is on the faculty of Penn State University, Rutgers University and Rowan College. She is currently Co-chair of the Tri-state Human Resource Management Association Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.

Ms. Gatti holds a Masters’ Degree from Drexel University, a Bachelor of Arts from The College of New Jersey.
